Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show has celebrated its 60th anniversary inaugurating the Superyacht Village. This new sport port it’s totally dedicated to yachts of great length and it also has an exhibition space on land that allows the showcase of the most spectacular yachts of the fair. Thus, it has grown even more of what is considered the largest nautical hall in the world, which already has seven exhibition locations, interconnected by sea and land. For this reason, Balearic Yacht Destination has had its own stand in this room to publicize and promote the Balearic Islands not only at the tourist level but also at the industrial level.
During the five day of the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, Balearic Yacht Destination has taken advantage of the more than 100.000 visitors to highlight the infrastructure of the refit, services and varied touristic offer that the island offers as a perfect destination for great length boats. In addition, it has been the scenario chosen to promote at an international level Palma International Boat Show, one of the most important nautical salons in the Mediterranean.
With this promotion, the intention is to attract new international visitors so that they get to know the Balearic industry and the beauty of Mallorca. The director of the Palma International Boat Show, Chema Sans, considers strategic its participation in the nautical fair of Florida because “the promotion of the Boat Show in Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show is an action to open new markets and publicize the destination as a centre of nautical activities, hence the importance of going along with the companies in the sector. We have noticed that companies exhibit at FLIBS see participation in the Palma Boat Show as a gateway to the European market. Palma International Boat Show and Palma Superyacht Show
For more than thirty years, one of the most important nautical salons in the Mediterranean, Palma International Boat Show, has been held in the port of Palma. A nautical fair that brings together professionals from both local and international sectors to give visibility to their services and products.
Each year, the Palma boat show manages to improve itself and improve its numbers not only of influx but also of satisfaction of visitors and exhibitors. Therefore, Palma International Boat Show and Palma Superyacht Show have become important outstanding fairs in the nautical sector.
A total of 270 exhibitors participated in the last edition of the Palma International Boat Show. In addition, 600 exposed vessels have been shown, of which half were at sea. All figures have exceeded the data corresponding to the previous year, thanks to a reorganization of the fairgrounds, which has allowed the completion of the nautical fair in a total area of 81,400 square meters.
Balearic Tasting Journeys
Balearic Yacht Destination has taken advantage of the international visit to inform about the gastronomy of the Balearic Islands in its Balearic Tasting Journeys.
This action was carried out jointly with the IDI coordination team and allowed Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show attendees to enjoy a tasting of Balearic Islands products for three days and learn about the traditional cuisine of Mallorca, Menorca, Ibiza and Formentera. A unique day in which there has been good atmosphere, good food and drink.
Thanks to the collaboration of Mahón Cheese from Menorca, attendees at these conferences have been able to taste the authentic Mahonés cheese with Protected Designation of Origin and its artisan variety. In addition, typical products of Spanish cuisine such as the authentic Serrano ham or the Mallorcan sobrasada. All these products have been served accompanied by the best wine of local cuisine.
These gastronomic days have been attended by professionals from the nautical industry from all over the world. A fact that has taken advantage of the 15 companies that are part of the Balearic Yacht Destination association to present their services and products, in addition to communicating our highly competitive image internationally.
