Balearic Yacht Destination in Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show

It’s nearly here – the 60th annual Fort Lauderdale International Boat show – the largest in-water boat show on earth.   From 30 October to 3 November 2020 in 7 locations in and around Fort Lauderdale/Broward County. And BYD (Balearic Yacht Destination) will be there at stand 672, ready to promote the Balearic Islands of Mallorca, Menorca, Ibiza and Formentera as the ideal destination for superyachts whether for pleasure or for commercial purposes – such as refit and repair, painting, management or services.

Over 1, 500 vessels will be on display, some new, some pre-owned, some making their worldwide debut, some for sale, some for charter, and some just to sigh and dream over.

Approximately 110,00 visitors will be attended by 1,200 exhibitors during these 5 days. Besides beautiful yachts there are fishing yachts, day boats, tenders, personal watercraft, marine products and accessories, fancy cars, submersibles and personal helicopters.

The addition of the newest of the 7 locations, the Superyacht Village at Pier 66 South, brings the total show exhibition space to more than three million square feet, confirming its claim of being the largest boat show in the world.  The most spectacular yachts, all over 300 feet, will be shown here in conjunction with a 3.5-acre area featuring shipyard exhibits, as well  as yacht accessories including helicopters, submersibles and cars.  An on-site dining destination, exclusive VIP events and areas of discovery will also pop up within the Superyacht Village, not to mention seminars and special events, including, for the second year running, the Chef’s contest.

The remaining locations are:

Bahia Mar Yachting Centre

Hall of Fame Marina

Greater Fort Lauderdale / Broward

Country Convention Centre

Las Olas Marina

Fort Lauderdale Hilton Marina

Hotels around the show abound with special offers; transport from the various parking centres to the show’s locations is easy either by water taxi or a laid-on shuttle service.  Uber and Lyft are also available.   And when you get tired of things yachting (is that even possible?), then take some time to explore the City of Fort Lauderdale with its museums, art galleries, malls and eateries.
