April 27th, 2019 – the first day of the recent Palma Superyacht Show – the weather was the perfect Mediterranean weather – cloudless blue skies, very little wind, bright sunshine – setting the tone for the most sought-after party of the show – the Nautipaints party.
Hosted by Toni Salom and his team, everyone who’s anyone in the Mallorca yachting scene was there – captains of (yachting) industry, captains of superyachts, owners, friends, sponsors (Royal Huisman, Jotun, Undercover Operations) and most of the big guns in the nautical sector.
Held in the incomparably stylish Mar de Nudos, on the waterfront boulevard of Carrer del Moll – the food, a fusion of Asian and European, Japanese and Italian to be more precise, just kept coming. Jamón carved directly in front of you, slate trays full of sushi, boats filled with amuse-bouche, small buffet dishes filled with all sorts of mouthwatering appetisers. Smiling, jacketed waiters gracefully waltzed through the guests with trays of ice-cold cava, or whatever other drink you were having. And with constant top ups, no glass was ever empty for long. Congratulations to the Mar de Nudos team for ensuring the evening was such a great success.
There was a lot of laughter and high spirits among the elegant guests as they bumped into old friends and met new ones – the atmosphere was electric. Entertainment was led by the singer Angel and a saxophonist from Cuba, while sundry souls danced into the wee hours with the renowned DJ Kiko Navarro.
However, in fine yachtie tradition, it wasn’t all just about having fun, the raffle, with fabulous prizes, raised a substantial amount of money which was donated to ASPROM. (association of adults with disabilities).
Until next year!
