The Balearics entering into the new normality
This 2020 has been a year full of uncertainty and change and all of us have had to adapt the way we live and work in some way. In the Balearic Islands, it has been a tough few months for the nautical industry, which is one of the main drivers of the economy in the islands, after tourism. However, we are certain we will come out the other side even stronger and ready for whatever comes next. The summer season may be different this year than previous but we are expecting more yachts to come to the Balearics in the winter season to sail and also do refits and reparations on their vessels.
As we start to enter into the final phases of the recuperation phases in the Balearic Islands, we are now allowed to enjoy the islands facilities even more and sail and visit the beach again. There is certainly a positive atmosphere in the islands as we slowly enter into the new normality. We also cannot ignore the positive environmental affects this pandemic has had on our islands. The clear sea water, cleanliness in the towns and villages and of course the wildlife which have come even closer to where we live on the islands. We’ve seen dolphins and tuna fish swimming into ports on the island and birds coming back into the city of Palma and Ibiza.
We are hopeful that we will get through this and the nautical companies on the island are prepared for the rest of the season, ensuring the necessary security measures are in place to welcome clients and continue working. Stay safe everyone!
